Debian USB HDD

So over the long weekend I was toying with the idea of getting an external USB harddrive and installing Debian on it and seeing how it goes, so I spent a few hours looking around on the net for other people with the same ideas.
Google returned quite a few interesting sites and blogs who have attempted the same thing, so it mustn't be impossible. Now I just need to get the drive and casing...
